In numerous regions, the weather conditions of the past few days brought public transportation to a standstill. At many airports, flights had to be canceled or air traffic completely suspended. Thanks to special support, HELI-FLIGHT JLR's jets were still able to take off and land reliably for organ transport. Adhering to transport time is a crucial factor for successful organ transplantation.

Last week alone, our Munich crew took off for numerous organ transports, flying to destinations such as Speyer, Oberpfaffenhofen, Innsbruck, and Hamburg, among others. 

Support came from all sides. In addition to the usual de-icing, as can also be seen in some photos, Munich Airport even cleared a path specifically for the HELI-FLIGHT JLR organ transport with snow removal vehicles one night. Just right for the following weather conditions, Speyer Airport introduced the Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) procedure in mid-December 2025, which now allows flight operations to be conducted safely even in poor visibility conditions.
